Privacy Policy
Effective from 12 October 2026
TazaQala is a civic eco-platform: residents report illegal dumps and other environmental violations, and city services clean them up. This policy explains what data we collect on tazaqala.com and in the TazaQala mobile app, why, who we share it with and how to delete it. We process data in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Personal Data and Their Protection”.
Data controller: Nurlykhan Kalzhanov, developer of the TazaQala platform. Contact: info@tazaqala.kz.
1. What data we collect
- Account data (if you sign up): username, email, password (stored only as a hash), and optionally your name and phone number. Points, level and report history are linked to the account.
- Reports: a photo of the violation, the location coordinates, address, district, violation type, description, date and time. You can submit a report without an account.
- Location: used only while you fill in a report, to mark the place of the violation. We do not collect location in the background.
- Camera: used only to photograph the violation. The app does not need access to your gallery or other files. We remove technical metadata (EXIF) when saving photos.
- Technical data: IP address and request data in server logs, cookies for sign-in and language choice on the website. In the app, sign-in keys are kept in the phone's secure storage.
We do not show ads, use advertising trackers or sell data.
2. Why we use it
- to receive reports, review them (moderation) and pass them to cleanup services;
- to show violations and cleanup progress on the open map;
- to award points, keep the residents' leaderboard and give out rewards;
- to notify you about the status of your reports;
- to protect the service from abuse and fake reports.
3. What is public
Reports are public: the photo, place, address, type, description and status are visible on the map and in the feed, together with the author's username — unless you submitted the report anonymously or enabled anonymous display in your profile. The leaderboard shows username, level and points. Your email, phone and name are never shown to other users.
4. Who we share data with
- Cleanup services, the city akimat and the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of Almaty — report details, so that violations get fixed.
- Map services — to display the map and look up addresses: OpenStreetMap and Nominatim, Esri (satellite imagery) on the website, Google Maps and the device geocoder in the app. They receive the coordinates of the area or point you view, but not your account data.
- Government authorities — only when required by law.
5. How long we keep data
Account data is kept while the account exists. Reports are kept indefinitely as part of the city's open environmental statistics; after account deletion they become anonymous. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security.
6. Your rights and account deletion
You can view and edit your profile, enable anonymous display or delete your account at any time:
- in the app: “Profile” → “Delete account”;
- on the website: account deletion page;
- by email to info@tazaqala.kz from the address you registered with.
Deletion erases your username, email, phone, name, password, points, badges, notifications and reward requests. Reports you submitted stay on the map without any link to you.
7. Security
The website and the app work only over HTTPS, passwords are stored as hashes, and only staff with the right permissions can access moderation.
8. Children
If you are under 16, please use the service with the consent of your parents or legal guardians. Do not post photos in which people can be recognised.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the current version is always on this page with the date at the top. Questions about your data: info@tazaqala.kz, +7 701 063 00 55.
